I began selling art at craft shows at a clubhouse for the mentally ill in Toronto called Progress Place. I sold many works for pay-what-you-can and for as little as $5. I didn't care too much about the money, I was glad someone could appreciate my art. Later I became active at an organization that promotes artistic ability in people with mental illness called Workman's Arts, and took a wild chance in submitting works for acceptance for display in psychiatric hospitals. To my surprise I was accepted for display for three years straight, and sold most of the works. I also appeared on two magazine covers.
