The Poetry and Art of Jai Wax

I began to take my art more seriously and developed compositions, working on skills in technique and realism. That is the point I am at now in art. I was called 'a master of Art Brut' in an article in the Toronto Star. Art Brut is produced mostly by people with mental illness. It was promoted early in the 20th century by a famous artist who thought that Art Brut reflected a form of creativity not corrupted by academic conditioning and social norms. It is 'raw', 'psychotic' or 'outsider art'. I later began to incorporate surrealism. I would call my art 'Brute Surrealism'.

Imagination, inspiration from nature and discipline are what I use to create my images. My personal growth through spirituality, a mixture of Native teachings, Hinduism and Judaism fosters me with the energy needed to be creative. I am grateful for the support of God/dess,  my family, friends, sponsors and clients. Below: Putting It All Behind Me
